Tony Gonzales Secures Major Law Enforcement Endorsements
As an unwavering advocate for law enforcement, I am committed to backing the blue in every shape and form. That’s why I’ve secured a vote of confidence from the most notable statewide and national law enforcement organizations – The San Antonio Police Officers’ Association, The Police Officers’ Defense Coalition, The Texas Municipal Police Association, Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas (CLEAT), and the Deputy Sheriff’s Association of Bexar County.
Since day one in Congress, I’ve helped secure funding to hire more than 100 police officers across TX-23, delivered critical equipment to LEOs across the border, and stood strong against any and all efforts by the Left to defund the police.
In June, I introduced the COPS Act, which INCREASES penalties for anyone who assaults law enforcement in the line of duty.
Recently, an anti-law enforcement streak has been brewing in America. We see it in the way that ICE agents have sustained multiple attacks by rioters and disruptors. We cannot allow that kind of lawlessness to take hold at any level. That’s why I’ve been fighting to increase criminal penalties on anyone who assaults or impedes a law enforcement officer in the line of duty.
Working closely with President Trump, I also helped deliver the largest border security investment ever. This influx of resources serves as a force multiplier for local, state, and federal law enforcement as they clamp down on illegal activities and make our communities safer.
