This afternoon, I voted YES on the SAVE Act – which would require proof of citizenship to register to vote in elections and the presentation of an ID to cast a ballot.

By requiring documented proof of U.S. citizenship for voter registration, the SAVE Act eliminates legal loopholes that could allow non-citizens to vote, and gives states clear tools and resources to maintain accurate, reliable elections.

This is a MAJOR step forward to ensuring our elections are SECURE, TRANSPARENT, and FAIR. The SAVE Act is about ensuring that every LEGAL vote counts and that the integrity of our elections – and our democracy – is protected.
